The Lift Story
How It All Began
Nick and his father have been riding the products they build from day one. That constant search for the ultimate ride has always been part of the DNA — no shortcuts, just an obsessive drive to perfect the experience.
In 2015, co-founder Nick Leason – an engineer and passionate surfer – came up with the idea for the original eFoil. He combined technologies from smartphones, electric vehicles, and even drones into a board that lets riders fly above any body of water, no wind or waves required.

When we first introduced the eFoil concept, it went viral almost instantly.
It took years of research and development, sourcing components, designing, and engineering — but once it was ready, eFoiling took on a life of its own. Today, we’re incredibly proud to say we’ve shipped thousands of eFoils to riders all around the world.
True to our roots
We continue to refine our surf foil lines by working closely with legendary board shapers and top-tier carbon fiber suppliers to deliver the highest-performing foil setups available today.
